Last week I posted about the challenges of staging farmhouses. This was the first house that we thought might not benefit from home staging. It needed to be deep-cleaned and some things replaced, and unless the homeowner was willing, there wasn’t any point in staging it.

After our consultation, the homeowner replaced the flooring with a darker, heavier vinyl. She also replaced the stove, cleaned the refrigerator and had the walls painted a nice warm tan. The cabinets and countertops got a good scrubbing. It was ready for staging.

Even we were amazed at the transformation. Home staging is so important in selling vacant properties. In a vacant house, there is nothing to look at except for any flaws or imperfections. When staged, your eye also focuses on the potential of the property. You can then make an intelligent decision as to what the home might be worth to you.

This kitchen makes an emotional connection for the prospective buyer. If you’d like more information on this farmhouse that sits on 5 acres, take a look at our
